Amplify Cell Technologies Joint venture between Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Truck, and PACCAR, producing battery cells for US electric vehicles. CEO Kel Kearns leads the initiative.

Accelera, Daimler, and PACCAR form Amplify Cell Technologies, appoint new CEO

Columbus, USA- Accelera by Cummins., the zero-emissions business unit of Cummins Inc., Daimler Trucks & Buses US Holding LLC., and Paccar Inc., they format the joint venture, now known as Amplify Cell Technologies, will localize battery cell production in the US, focusing on electric commercial vehicles and industrial applications. Construction of a 21 GWh factory in Marshall County, Miss., will commence, creating over 2,000 manufacturing jobs, with production slated for 2027.

Mr. Kel Kearns is appointed as CEO of Amplify Cell Technologies, focusing on producing lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cells for North American commercial vehicles. Accelera, Daimler Truck, and PACCAR own 30% each, with EVE Energy as a technology partner owning 10%, bringing expertise in LFP battery cell design and manufacturing.

Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Truck, and Paccar are driving the commercial vehicle sector towards zero-emissions technologies in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. PACCAR, known for its Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks, offers a range of high-quality vehicles with both diesel and zero-emissions powertrains, supported by charging solutions and infrastructure. They also provide financial services, IT, and truck parts distribution.
