Chennai-TVS Motor Company, a two-wheeler manufacture has made history with its electric race bike, the Apache RTE (Racing Throttle Electric), hitting an impressive top speed of 200 km/h during the inaugural round of the TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship (e-OMC). This championship marks the electric version to the annual One Make Championship featuring the petrol-powered TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

The Apache RTE, purpose-built for the e-OMC, is inteneded to be a showcase of the latest in electric motorcycle power and performance.

The bike is powered by a high-efficiency liquid-cooled motor and an advanced chemistry battery pack, offering the highest power-to-weight ratio in its category. Its custom battery management system, enhanced with race-specific algorithms, ensures top-tier performance and safety standards.

TVS has dedicated extensive efforts to develop a machine capable of achieving remarkable speeds. The Apache RTE is equipped with a single reduction chain drive, bespoke Ohlins suspension, and a Brembo braking system that includes a 320mm front disc. It rides on carbon fiber wheels wrapped in Pirelli Super Corsa tires. The aerodynamic carbon fiber fairing minimizes drag, allowing the bike to accelerate through the air at breathtaking velocities.

Eight skilled riders, selected to compete in the inaugural season, pushed the Apache RTE to its limits on the racetrack. Sarthak Chavan emerged victorious in Round 1, closely followed by Chirant V and Alwin Sundar, all of whom experienced the thrill of hitting the double-century mark on the speedometer.

Mr.Vimal Sumbly, Head Business – Premium, TVS Motor Company, Said, "The TVS Racing e-OMC is a testament to our commitment to revolutionize the racing ecosystem and push the limits of electric motorcycle technology. Achieving a top speed of 200 km/h in the very first round demonstrates the incredible potential of electric racing and sets a new benchmark for performance”.

The e-OMC races, held alongside the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC), will keep thrilling spectators at iconic tracks like the Madras Motor Racetrack, Kari Motor Speedway, and Buddh International Circuit.
