Mahle Sells Thermostat Business to ADMETOS

Stuttgart, Germany- Mahle, Manufacturer of combustion engine components and systems, particularly in powertrain, mechatronics, and electronics, has finalized the sale of its automotive thermal management division, including its thermostat business, to the German industrial and investment holding firm Admetos.

Mahle's thermostat segment has been sold to ADMETOS, an industrial and investment holding firm, which will now manage the business under the name BTT Solutions. This acquisition involves the transfer of around 600 employees across six countries. Sales of thermostats under the MAHLE and Behr brands in the spare parts and accessories market will still be handled by the worldwide MAHLE Aftermarket network.

Jumana Al-Sibai, member of the MAHLE Management Board, said, in ADMETOS, we have found an owner that offers both the company and its employees a stable, promising outlook. I would like to thank all employees in the thermostat product area.

In August 2023, MAHLE announced the sale of its thermostat product range to ADMETOS. MAHLE is focusing on electrification, thermal management systems, and cost-effective components for efficient, environmentally friendly combustion engines as part of its new strategy. Consequently, the thermostat product group is no longer considered a strategic segment for MAHLE's OEM business.
