MG Motor India & HPCL Partner to Boost EV Charging Infrastructure

New Delhi-MG Motor India and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance India's EV charging network. This partnership will install 50kW and 60kW DC fast chargers at key locations across highways and cities, marking a significant step towards enriching the country's electric vehicle infrastructure.

The collaboration aims to enhance the convenience for EV users by expanding the availability of chargers along their long-distance and intercity journeys.

The public-mode charger network is designed to accommodate all EVs compatible with the CCS 2 charging standard, such as the MG ZS EV. These charging stations will be accessible to MG customers through the MyMG App and will also be discoverable using HPCL's integrated network discovery tool.

Mr.Rajdip Ghosh, Chief General Manager, Highway Retailing, HPCL, “HPCL has a nationwide network of 22,000 plus Fuel Stations and is committed to a sustainable future by providing green fuel to the customers. Furthermore, HPCL aims to install 5000 electric vehicle charging stations by December 2024."

Through this partnership with MG Motor India, HPCL shall leverage the vehicle base of MG to increase the utilisation of its chargers installed across India. HPCL will analyse charger usage to improve customer experience and strategic expansion in EV Charging infrastructure at places,” he added.
