Pune-Bharat NCAP is a New Car Safety Assessment program has unveiled its crash test results for the Tata Punch EV. The compact electric SUV has earned a remarkable 5-star rating for both adult and child occupant safety. Conducted in April 2024, these results extend to all versions of the Punch EV.

In BNCAP's tests, the Punch EV achieved an impressive score of 31.46 out of 32 for adult occupant protection (AOP). It attained 14.26 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 15.6 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. Throughout these tests, the Punch EV demonstrated good to average protection for adult occupant crash test dummies. Additionally, in the side pole impact test, the compact SUV delivered commendable protection.

In the Child Occupancy Protection (COP) test, the Punch EV secured an impressive 45 out of 49 points. It excelled with 23.95 out of 24 points in dynamic tests, a perfect 12 out of 12 in the Child Seat Restraint (CRS) category, and a commendable 9 out of 13 in vehicle assessment. Tata's compact e-SUV comes with six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), three-point seat belts for all seats, ISOFIX mounts, and more, all provided as standard features across every variant.

The Tata Punch EV comes with two battery options: a 25kWh option offering a range of 315km (MIDC) and a 35kWh variant providing a 421km MIDC range. Charging options consist of a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger. The Long-range models feature a 122hp motor generating 190Nm, while the standard versions come with an 82hp motor delivering 114Nm. Prices for the Punch EV range from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh.
