Zedelgem, Belgium - CNH Industrial N.V., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has successfully completed its three-year Accelerator Project (2022–2025) at the Zedelgem Harvesting Center of Excellence, marking a major step in the plant’s digital transformation.
The €150 million initiative focused on implementing advanced manufacturing technologies, including flexible assembly lines, AI-supported quality control, and predictive planning systems. These upgrades optimize material flow, enhance production efficiency, and improve operational agility.
The project also supported the launch of CNH’s NextGen Pilot Line, where six R&D projects have already been integrated into manufacturing. This modernization was key to producing the New Holland CR11, the company’s next-generation flagship combine harvester. The CR11 increased production complexity by 30%, which the upgraded systems managed efficiently without compromising quality.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Flanders Make and five Flemish manufacturing partners: Picanol, Atlas Copco, Vandewiele, Sabca, and Crop’s. The ecosystem established through the project is designed for scalability and future expansion, reinforcing CNH’s competitiveness in global manufacturing.
Mr. Tom Verbaeten, CNH Chief Supply Chain Officer, said, "The long-term transformation of our Zedelgem Centre of Excellence is the result of a strategic industrial vision and effective collaboration with our innovation partners. This synergy is fundamental to driving performance, innovation, and sustainability. Thanks to our commitment and the support of partners such as Flanders Make, Zedelgem is now a benchmark for digitalized, high-tech manufacturing in Europe."
The Accelerator Project demonstrates CNH’s commitment to integrating digital innovation into manufacturing, setting a benchmark for high-tech production in Europe.
