Fondo, Italy - FAE Group S.p.A., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced the RCU45, its most compact remote-controlled tracked carrier, engineered for vegetation management in challenging or inaccessible terrain. Designed for work along rail lines, utility corridors, pipelines, roadways and waterways, the new model expands FAE’s RCU lineup, joining the RCU55, RCU75 and RCU120.
Powered by a 44-horsepower Yanmar common-rail electronic fuel-injection engine, the RCU45 is built for steep slopes and confined environments. Its heavy-duty undercarriage incorporates automatic rubber track tensioning, enabling traction on gradients up to 55 degrees. A dual hydrostatic transmission drives both the tracks and attachments simultaneously to deliver consistent mulching performance.
FAE’s integrated control system—featuring electronically managed piston pumps and a dedicated ECU—is designed to enhance reliability, responsiveness and ease of use. Cooling efficiency is supported by an aluminum radiator with anti-clogging fins and a proportional, reversible hydraulic fan, helping reduce maintenance requirements.
Operators manage all machine and head functions using an ergonomic remote control with a 4.3-inch display and customizable function keys. A 2.4 GHz communication frequency ensures stable operation.
The carrier also connects with the FAE App for configuration management, remote repositioning, real-time monitoring, diagnostics and maintenance alerts.
The RCU45 is compatible with two FAE mulching heads:
- BL0/RCU for mulching wood and branches up to 10 cm, featuring a fixed-blade rotor with Bite Limiter technology for high output with lower power draw.
- PML/RCU for grass and shrubs up to 5 cm, equipped with swinging hammers.
FAE also offers an optional rear electric recovery winch rated for 1.1 tons, enhancing safety and versatility in demanding field conditions.
