HIAB iQ.708 HIPRO, a heavy loader crane with a 40-meter reach and advanced safety features. Orders start in Q4 2024
Date: September 19, 2024Hudiksvall, Sweden- Hydrauliska Industri AB (Hiab)., a manufacturer of loader cranes, demountable container handlers, forestry cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, and tail lifts, is a part of Cargotec Corporation., has launched the HIAB iQ.708 HIPRO, a next-generation heavy loader crane. This model features a design that balances weight, lifting performance, and dimensions, enhancing safety and payload capacity while expanding truck installation options.
With increased lifting capacity, the HIAB iQ.708 HIPRO boasts an optimized frame and the advanced SPACEevo control system for improved productivity and safety, catering to both experienced and novice operators. The crane utilizes a modular design, scaling the V12-Power boom profile for the 60 to 70 tm range, making it versatile for its segment. It offers a maximum vertical reach of 40 meters, and with a 15 tm JIB, it can deliver materials with an "up and over" capability of 26 meters.
Mr. Stefano Brusa, Director, Global Product Management Heavy & Superheavy Loader Cranes, Hiab, said, “The design philosophy behind the structure of the crane is to deliver a balance between performance and overall installation flexibility, enabling customers to benefit from more payload on a wide assortment of truck installations, which are key elements for the users in this segment. With a focus to assist operators during complex operations,
Hiab is introducing the Syncronised Distance Control (SDC) function with the iQ.708 HIPRO, enabling automatic load positioning at a set distance from the crane’s tip while allowing remote control of extension movements. This enhances safety by reducing the need to operate multiple levers simultaneously, especially when handling high or distant loads where visibility is limited.
Additional features include the Load Stability System for vertical movements (LSS-V), which compensates for excessive lever movement, and Variable Stability Logic PLUS (VSL+), which optimizes lifting capacity by monitoring stabilizer leg position and pressure. The CD4 remote control enhances operator experience with three large, visible displays, haptic feedback, and personalized settings.
Ordering for the new unit will start in Q4 2024. To maximize the lifecycle of HIAB loader cranes, Hiab offers HiPerform smart solutions that boost performance and productivity. Customers can enhance fleet efficiency, improve operator safety, and extend equipment longevity through tailored options like proactive maintenance, telematics, and simulator training.
The HiConnect telematics solution provides real-time insights into equipment condition, enabling informed decisions that reduce downtime and enhance productivity. Additionally, the ProCare service contract offers comprehensive preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections to ensure optimal crane performance. While availability may vary by market, Hiab is committed to supporting customers with innovative solutions that drive long-term reliability and success.
