Schwandorf, Germany - HORSCH Maschinen GmbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced DynamicSteering, an advanced steering software for trailed tandem machines that automatically switches between directionally stable and low-wear steering. The system is designed to enhance efficiency, manoeuvrability, and crop protection.

DynamicSteering offers two core steering modes. In directionally stable mode, the tandem’s first axle follows the tractor’s rear axle, while the rear tyres track the front axle path—minimising crop damage, especially on headlands. In contrast, the V-position mode turns the axles in opposite directions, delivering a tighter turning radius, particularly useful on hard ground or near 90-degree corners.

The software allows drivers to select from multiple automatic modes—maximum directional stability, maximum material protection, or a mix of both. Based on the tractor’s steering angle, the system determines the optimal setting. On wide turns, it ensures precise tracking to protect crops, while in tight corners, the front axle swivels in the opposite direction to reduce turning circles and tyre wear.

Manual mode remains available, giving operators full flexibility. The system’s benefits are most evident in fields with narrow tramlines, sharp bends, or limited headlands, where manoeuvrability is crucial.

DynamicSteering will be standard on all new Horsch tandem machines and is also available as a retrofit option for existing models.
