Catarina, Brazil- Librelato SA., a manufacturer of commercial vehicle, has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new Refrigerated Van, unveiled at Fetranslog 2025. The fair, held from November 11–15 in Chapecó (SC), is considered the leading transport and logistics event in southern Brazil. With this debut, Librelato now offers a dedicated solution for temperature-controlled transport, reinforcing its strategy of innovation and diversification in the road implement sector.

Mr. João Librelato, Commercial and Marketing Director, said, the new van is the result of a carefully structured plan to serve a critical area of Brazilian logistics. He explains that the refrigerated van broadens Librelato’s offering, enabling the company to deliver a complete solution for cold-chain operations. Significant investments in technology, engineering, and strategic partnerships were made to ensure high standards of quality and thermal efficiency.

Fetranslog was chosen as the launch platform because it brings Librelato into direct contact with key players in refrigerated transport, particularly in Brazil’s South region. This area is a major national hub for cold-chain activity due to its dense concentration of food manufacturers, meat processors, and specialized logistics providers. By introducing a product tailored to this audience at such a high-profile event, Librelato aims to highlight both the strength of its brand and its ability to respond effectively to the demands of this strategic segment.

The new Refrigerated Van was developed from a robust engineering project in collaboration with suppliers specializing in refrigeration and thermal solutions. Built around the real-world needs of fleets moving temperature-sensitive cargo—such as food and pharmaceuticals—the design incorporates technologies that safeguard temperature control and cargo integrity throughout the journey.

On the technical side, the Refrigerated Van combines high-performance refrigeration, strong thermal insulation, and excellent structural resistance. A T-shaped floor, widely adopted in the market for its efficiency, helps ensure uniform cooling across the entire cargo area. This effect is further strengthened by a large air duct that improves internal airflow, ensuring cold air is distributed evenly inside the compartment.

To maximize temperature retention, the side panels and roof are injected with polyurethane (PU) using dedicated templates. This process promotes homogeneous insulation distribution, resulting in consistent density and, consequently, high thermal performance. Shorter spacing between side seams, along with an increased number of internal ribs, enhances structural strength, durability, and sealing, reducing the risk of thermal leaks and helping maintain the internal temperature.

In terms of robustness, the van features an internal structure with three crossmembers arranged in an “X” configuration, which significantly reduces torsion and increases overall rigidity. Unlike conventional solutions that rely on a single “X”, this triple setup delivers superior reinforcement. The roof is welded and fitted with more crossbars than many competing models, further boosting resistance for demanding daily operations. Together, these elements translate into improved cargo safety and high reliability in transport.

The model was developed through a partnership between Librelato and Trukam, a Santa Catarina–based company recognized for its expertise in thermal installations and refrigeration systems. This collaboration unites Librelato’s advanced industrial processes and manufacturing know-how with Trukam’s deep specialization in refrigeration, ensuring a product with both structural excellence and strong thermal performance.

The production process was designed from the ground up to preserve structural integrity and ideal insulation. Modern equipment, strict control over material density, and standardized manufacturing techniques are used to deliver consistent quality across all components. The result is a durable, dependable road implement capable of maintaining thermal performance even under harsh Brazilian road conditions.

Librelato’s connection to the broader refrigeration ecosystem—supported by partners like Trukam—is a key competitive advantage. The company operates in multiple regions and segments across Brazil, offering integrated solutions and agile support throughout the customer journey. The new refrigerated van reflects a shared commitment to continuous innovation, technical excellence, and high product quality.

As an additional highlight, the van can be equipped with Sigaway’s smart telemetry system. This optional technology adds a layer of intelligent monitoring, including online temperature tracking, TPMS, GPS tracking, and other connected features, all integrated into a dedicated digital platform. For refrigerated cargo operations, Sigaway enables real-time visibility into the trailer’s internal conditions. If any parameter strays from the ideal range, the system issues instant alerts, helping protect the cargo and improve operational efficiency.

The product also offers a broad range of optional configurations, allowing fleets to tailor the implement to their specific needs. Available options include trapezoidal flooring, pallet locks, internal partitions, pallet guidance systems, and variable height and length configurations, among others. Librelato’s portfolio covers multiple lengths and axle layouts, giving customers flexibility to match vehicle specification to their application. All components are selected to meet strict performance and durability criteria and are backed by differentiated warranty conditions, reinforcing Librelato’s focus on quality, reliability, and long-term value for its customers.
