Link-Belt debuts new 225|AT at CraneFest 2024

Lexington, United States- Link-Belt Cranes LP LLP., a crane manufacturer that designs, sells, and supports a variety of telescopic and lattice boom cranes, delivers an All-Terrain crane with a strong focus toward the North American market with the launch of the all-new 225-ton (200-metric ton) 225|AT All Terrain crane, at CraneFest 2024 November 8–9, 2024 in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Mr. Andrew Soper, Hydraulic Truck and All Terrain Cranes Product Manager “We’re excited to add the 225|AT to our All-Terrain product offering. I’m personally thrilled for customers to experience this AT platform with its new features, increased capacities, and superior transportability.”

The 225|AT crane offers enhanced reach, greater capacities, and increased counterweight compared to its predecessor, the ATC-3210, all while maintaining the exceptional transportability that defines Link-Belt’s All Terrain series. Proudly designed, built, and tested in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, the 225|AT is a testament to American craftsmanship.

This five-axle crane features a 46–202-foot (14–62-meter) six-section latching boom, a 42–71-foot (13–22-meter) two-piece hydraulic SmartFly with offset capability, an 8-foot (2.4-meter) heavy-lift jib, and optional 25-foot (7.6-meter) lattice fly extensions. With maximum attachment, it achieves a 334-foot (101.8-meter) tip height. Innovative features like the Pulse 2.0 operating system and wireless rigging remote are also incorporated.

The 225|AT's efficient modular design optimizes roadability, featuring a maximum counterweight of 118,000 pounds (35,966 kilograms), a maximum winch line pull of 29,392 pounds (8,958 kilograms), and a line speed of up to 450 feet per minute (137.2 meters per minute). Powered by an EPA-compliant Cummins X-15 engine and coupled with a ZF TraXon automated transmission, the crane offers a top speed of 55 miles per hour (88.5 km/h) and 554 brake horsepower (413 kW) at 2,000 RPM.

The crane is designed with safety and convenience in mind, including a slip-resistant paint deck, fall arrest anchors at all maintenance points, and Link-Belt's advanced lighting and vision package. This includes powered, heated side mirrors, HID headlamps, and LED indicator lights. The 225|AT is also HVO-ready, featuring a dual-tank system with a 165-gallon (624.6-liter) fuel capacity and a maximum torque of 1,850 foot-pounds (2,508 Nm) at 1,800 RPM.

With its SmartStack counterweight detection and Variable Confined Area Lifting Capacities (V-CALC) system, the 225|AT supports flexible outrigger configurations, enhancing reliability and securing in the industry.
