Saudi Arabia- GAC GROUP., unveiled a range of flagship models and officially introduced its two new energy vehicle (NEV) product series—AION and HYPTEC—at the Riyadh Motor Show, marking their entry into the Saudi market. With the simultaneous launch of the AION V, AION ES and HYPTEC HT, GAC signaled the start of its accelerated expansion in the Middle East and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s rapidly advancing green mobility landscape. The press event was attended by dignitaries and senior executives from China and Saudi Arabia, including representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Aljomaih Auto and GAC INTERNATIONAL, who collectively witnessed this important milestone for the brand.

GAC’s entry into Saudi Arabia’s NEV sector comes at a time when the Kingdom is undergoing a major transformation driven by Vision 2030. Local electrification efforts have intensified, with NEV penetration growing by more than 60% annually since 2022. The government aims to raise the share of electric vehicles to 30% of all vehicle sales and deploy over 50,000 charging stations across cities and major expressways. As consumer awareness improves and policy support strengthens, Saudi Arabia has rapidly become one of the most promising and fastest-growing NEV markets in the Middle East. Recognizing this momentum, GAC has positioned the Kingdom as a core market under its “One GAC 2.0” global plan and is accelerating localization, product deployment and service upgrades to support Saudi Arabia’s sustainable mobility goals.

With the debut of the AION and HYPTEC series, GAC aims to establish itself as a leader in NEV technology experience in Saudi Arabia. Guided by its values of “Top-tier Quality,” “Pioneering Technology,” and a customer-first service philosophy, the company seeks to deliver green, intelligent and high-quality mobility experiences tailored to Saudi consumers. The three newly launched NEVs—AION V, AION ES and HYPTEC HT—cover a wide range of usage scenarios from family travel to daily commuting and premium business needs. All three models showcase GAC’s expertise in design, safety, intelligence and comfort, bringing Saudi buyers reliable products equipped with advanced features and competitive technologies.

The AION V is positioned as a premium tech SUV designed for mainstream Saudi families, offering a bold exterior, intelligent cockpit and comprehensive safety features. The AION ES, described as “A New Form of Intelligence,” blends practicality, value and smart functionality, making it suitable for both urban commuters and family users seeking safe, efficient mobility. The HYPTEC HT, a mid-to-full-size luxury electric SUV, provides high-end users with a futuristic design, refined interiors and advanced driving assistance, catering to elevated demands for comfort, technology and green luxury. To ensure long-term peace of mind, GAC is offering an 8-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/200,000 km battery warranty, demonstrating strong confidence in durability. The company is also strengthening its after-sales ecosystem by enhancing local service capability and ensuring parts availability rates exceed 95%.

At the motor show, GAC presented a full-scenario mobility matrix consisting of eight models from the GAC, AION and HYPTEC series. The NEV lineup included the AION V, AION ES, HYPTEC HT and the pure electric hypercar HYPTEC SSR, which impressed visitors with its 100% carbon-fiber body and remarkable 1.9-second 0–100 km/h acceleration. In the fuel-vehicle category, models such as the GAC GS8, GAC M8, EMZOOM and EMPOW showcased the brand’s capabilities across SUV, MPV and sporty sedan segments. The GS8 Traveller Version, with its rugged styling, advanced four-wheel-drive performance and nearly 5-meter length, continued to draw strong attention from Saudi buyers since its launch earlier this year.

GAC also reinforced its “Tech GAC” brand image through a technology-driven booth design, featuring immersive VR driving experiences that allowed visitors to explore the dynamic performance of GAC models in a virtual environment. This interactive approach highlighted the company’s leadership in intelligent mobility and enhanced its engagement with local audiences. As GAC enters a critical phase of its “Middle East Action” plan, the year 2026 will see the development of a comprehensive five-in-one capability system covering brand, product, channel, service and key customer operations, ensuring sustained progress in core Middle Eastern markets.

With seven years of deep operation in Saudi Arabia, GAC has built a solid foundation of user trust and brand reputation. Looking ahead and guided by the “One GAC 2.0” strategy, the company will uphold its principle of “In Saudi Arabia, For Saudi Arabia, Integrating into Saudi Arabia, Serving Saudi Arabia, and Contributing to Saudi Arabia.” GAC will continue advancing the Kingdom’s new energy transition, strengthening localized operations, and working with partners to drive high-quality development of the automotive industry across Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East.
