Harsewinkel, Germany – CLAAS KGaA mbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced the new CONVIO FLEX 1530, a 15.30-metre draper cutterbar developed for its LEXION combine harvesters, now available to customers across Europe. After successful launches in North America and Australia, the new model extends the CONVIO FLEX range to deliver greater capacity, flexibility, and automation for large-scale harvesting operations.
The CONVIO FLEX 1530 features a flexible knife bar with ACTIVE FLOAT pressure control, allowing real-time adjustment from the cab. This enables the header to adapt precisely to ground contours—up to 90 mm upward and 135 mm downward—ensuring an even cut and reducing crop losses, especially when harvesting close to the ground. Standard hydropneumatic stabiliser wheels improve header stability and maintain uniform cutting height even on uneven terrain or at higher speeds.
The header’s split reel spider and two-part knife bar are powered by synchronized planetary drives for smooth and balanced operation. A mechanical drive system operates the intake auger and knives, while a hydraulic system powers the belts, reel, and optional rapeseed knives. Overload protection is integrated to safeguard the powertrain during demanding conditions.
Fully compatible with rapeseed harvesting, the CONVIO FLEX 1530 can be equipped with optional conveyor augers and tool-free detachable rapeseed knives. Rubber sealing around the belts and knife bar minimizes seed loss, while a raised rear wall prevents grain spray during operation.
The CLAAS CONVIO FLEX 1530 features advanced automation, including AUTOMATIC BELT SPEED, CEMOS AUTO HEADER, and a flip-over reel spider with tractive force control for smooth, consistent crop flow. Its two-mode reversing system clears blockages efficiently. With a 15.30 m working width and flexible design, it boosts productivity and reduces operator effort for high-capacity LEXION combines.
