United Kingdom, Europe - Michelin Tyre plc., a tyres manufacturer, partnership with CNH Industrial N.V., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has developed two new sizes of MICHELIN CEREXBIB 2 tyres specifically engineered for the CR11 combine harvester. This development addressed a unique challenge which minimizing soil compaction despite the machine’s significant width and weight. For the next two years, all new CR11 combine harvesters from New Holland will be equipped with MICHELIN CEREXBIB 2 tyres.

Mr. Nicolas REBOUL, Original Equipment sales agricultural director, said, “We are proud of our partnership with NEW HOLLAND. It was a real technical challenge. Innovation and excellence are part of the MICHELIN Group's DNA. That's why Michelin will continue to play a major role in tomorrow's agriculture, by promoting an increasingly environmentally-friendly approach while improving productivity.”

New Holland's latest CR11 combine harvester will feature two new tyre sizes in the MICHELIN CEREXBIB 2 range: the VF900/65R46 CFO and VF800/70R46 CFO.

The new MICHELIN CEREXBIB 2 tyres are engineered to tackle significant technical challenges. They support the CR11’s expanded hopper, which holds up to 20,000 liters, and its wider 15-meter header. Additionally, they comply with European road transport regulations on vehicle diameter and width. With a load capacity of 19 metric tons per tyre and a diameter of 2.32 meters for the VF900/65R46 CFO size, these tyres represent a major advancement in agricultural tyre technology.

The new rear axle configuration and high-performance tyres increase the CR11’s footprint by 23%, reduce ground pressure by 7%, and optimize fuel consumption. With the MICHELIN ULTRAFLEX TECHNOLOGY, these tyres offer a cyclic load bonus at 10 km/h, allowing for either increased load capacity or reduced tyre pressure, marking a breakthrough in agricultural tyre design.
