Eskilstuna, Sweden - Volvo Construction Equipment., a construction equipment manufacturer, has introduced its latest 35-ton short-swing radius excavator, the new ECR355, offering improved efficiency, performance, and operator comfort for building and utilities applications.
The machine delivers up to 7% better fuel efficiency than the previous model, supported by a new electro-hydraulic control system and redesigned main control valve. Electric cooling fans, hydraulic priority settings, new engine modes, and automatic engine shutdown further reduce operating costs.
Lifting capacity has increased by 7%, while tractive force is up by 4%, enabling stronger performance in confined areas. Volvo’s Active Control system allows for up to 45% faster grading, and integrated Dig Assist apps provide 2D/3D machine control with boundary limits for greater accuracy and safety.
Designed for high uptime, the ECR355 features extended service intervals, including 1,000-hour engine oil and 3,000-hour hydraulic oil changes. Smart View with people and obstacle detection, along with CareTrack telematics and ActiveCare 24/7 monitoring, enhances jobsite awareness and machine protection.
The cab offers 20% more space versus other short-swing models, improved cooling, lower noise, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and optimized control ergonomics. A lifetime warranty on the frame, boom, and arm is standard.
The Volvo ECR355 is now available to order in North America, Europe, Korea, and Japan.
