Wolfsburg, Germany - Volkswagen Group, a motor vehicle manufacturer, has introduced the new Tiguan EDITION 20 to celebrate two decades of the popular SUV. The anniversary model features R-Line exterior styling, a new exclusive colour and several special design details. It is now available to order, with prices starting at €48,180 for the 1.5 TSI version producing 110 kW/150 PS.
Since its market launch in 2007, more than nine million Tiguan vehicles had been sold worldwide by the end of May 2026. The Tiguan has also remained the Volkswagen Group’s best-selling model since 2017, highlighting its important role in the brand’s global success.
The Tiguan EDITION 20 is based on Volkswagen's Life trim and celebrates the SUV's 20th anniversary with exclusive styling and premium features. Highlights include the R-Line exterior package, exclusive Maple Red Metallic paint, EDITION 20 badging, illuminated door sills, red contrast stitching, redesigned seat upholstery, high-gloss black exterior accents, and 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inch optional). The anniversary model is available with all Tiguan powertrains producing 110 kW (150 PS) or more.
Volkswagen said the Tiguan has sold more than nine million units worldwide since its launch in 2007 and has been the Volkswagen Group's best-selling model since 2017, making it one of the brand's most successful global vehicles.
The Tiguan's journey began with the Concept Tiguan unveiled at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show, followed by the production model's launch in 2007. The second generation, introduced in 2016, brought a larger body, improved comfort and advanced driver-assistance systems, while the Tiguan R performance variant debuted in 2020.
The third-generation Tiguan, launched in 2024, features a redesigned exterior, digital cockpit, large touchscreen, advanced safety technologies, and a range of TSI petrol, TDI diesel, eTSI mild-hybrid and eHybrid plug-in hybrid powertrains, with plug-in hybrid models offering an electric range of over 100 km. The Tiguan is currently manufactured in Germany, Mexico and China and is sold in more than 60 countries worldwide.
