Pietarsaari, Finland – Hilltip., a snow and ice control equipment manufacturer, has introduced its new IceStriker Lion 8-15 Highway Combi Spreaders, designed for highway, municipal and large-scale winter maintenance operations.
The truck-mounted spreaders can handle both salt spreading and liquid de-icing, with dry material capacities from 8 to 15 cubic yards and liquid capacities from 530 to 1,850 gallons. Standard lateral liquid tanks support de-icing, anti-icing and pre-wetting, while optional front-mounted tanks can increase liquid capacity.
The IceStriker Lion is available with hydraulic or 24V/48V electric drive systems. Operators can choose between a chain conveyor or dual auger feed system, supported by an inverted-V design and automatic vibrator to improve material flow.
For greater control, the spreader offers in-cab adjustment for spreading symmetry. It also comes with Hilltip’s Strikesmart controller and HTrack tracking software, enabling remote monitoring, management and reporting.
An optional Strikesmart Plus controller with TempStriker sensor can monitor weather conditions and recommend suitable material types and application rates. Additional options include an end-of-material alarm, ladder with handrails, hook-lift frame, leg stands and tarp system.
