The Toyota Technical Training Institute celebrates 15th Batch Convocation

TTTI is celebrating the graduation of 214 students from its Global Manufacturing Practices training.

Bangalore - Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) celebrated the convocation of its 15th batch, marking the successful completion of its Global Manufacturing Practices training. The event honored 58 regular TTTI students and 156 Toyota Kaushalya course students from rural Karnataka. The ceremony, held in the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, featured academic awards and was attended by TKM Management, Toyota Group Companies, suppliers, and representatives from ASDC, NSDC, Toyota Technical Skill Academy – Japan, and the Toyota Indonesia Academy. The occasion highlighted the institute's commitment to comprehensive skill development and knowledge sharing.

Since its inception in 2007, TTTI has excelled in equipping rural youth with advanced technological skills, resulting in a consistent 100% employment rate for its graduates. The recently launched ‘Toyota Kaushalya’ program further enhances this success by offering a 'Learn and Earn' model that integrates theoretical education with hands-on On-the-Job Training (OJT), providing valuable skills for the manufacturing industry.

TTTI fosters inclusivity by providing free training to economically challenged students in rural Karnataka. Its comprehensive residential programs—TTTI Regular (three years) and Toyota Kaushalya (two years)—focus on holistic development across Body and Mind, Skill, and Knowledge. Graduates have excelled in competitions like India Skills and World Skills. With 1,020 alumni and over 810 current students, TTTI offers training in Vehicle Assembly, Welding, Painting, and Mechatronics.

The graduates are a testament to the institute’s dedication to nurturing skilled professionals who are well-prepared to contribute to the automotive industry and beyond. Shankara - Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Toyota is dedicated to advancing rural youth into top-tier technicians through holistic development. We're thrilled to announce that 214 new graduates from Karnataka have joined over 1,000 skilled professionals trained by our Toyota Technical Training Institute. These graduates have secured roles at Toyota Kirloskar Motor and internationally in Qatar, Jordan, and Slovakia. Additionally, we're enhancing 65 ITIs and GTTCs across Karnataka with train-the-trainer programs, infrastructure support, and cultural initiatives. To date, Toyota has trained over 110,000 youth across India, making a substantial impact on society and supporting Sustainable Development Goals.”

Graduates received multiple certifications, including the NAC (National Apprenticeship Certificate), ASDC Certificate and JIM and Toyota certificate. To date, 1,020 students have graduated, with 452 joining TKM and the remaining 568 securing positions in group companies, supplier companies, and overseas. These graduates have had the opportunity to join various companies across the industry. 

Students from TTTI have been recognized in World Skills Contests, with 1 Medallion in Brazil in 2015, 1 Bronze & 1 Medallion in Abu Dhabi in 2017, 1 Medallion in Russia in 2019, and 2 Bronze in Germany in 2022. Recent accolades include winning India Skills in Additive Manufacturing, Mechatronics, and Manufacturing Team Challenge (MTC), with representation at the upcoming World Skill Competition in France in September.
