Gujarat - CNH Industrial., a brand of CASE Construction Equipment, is reinforcing its long-term commitment to India by expanding manufacturing capacity and making new investments, even as the Indian construction equipment industry faced a challenging 2025 due to delayed highway projects, diversion of state funds to welfare schemes, and the shift to stricter emission standards.
CASE Construction Equipment is increasing output at its Pithampur manufacturing facility, which currently produces between 9,000 and 10,000 units annually. The company plans to raise capacity at the plant by 20–25% over the next 18 months through a brownfield expansion.
In parallel, CNH is planning a new greenfield manufacturing facility in India. According to Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director for India and SAARC at CASE Construction Equipment, the company expects to break ground on the new plant in 2026 and is currently evaluating locations in discussions with various state governments. The upcoming facility is expected to have a stronger focus on agricultural equipment, while also creating operational synergies with the construction equipment business.
CASE New Holland Construction Equipment (India) Pvt Ltd is jointly owned by CNH Industrial America LLC and CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd, with each holding a 50% stake. The company manufactures a wide range of earthmoving equipment, including bulldozers, graders, loaders, scrapers, mechanical shovels, and off-road dump trucks.
For the year ending December 2024, the company reported a net profit of $2.25 million (₹187.2 crore), compared with $1.86 million (₹154.5 crore) in the previous year. Revenue declined marginally to $27.5 million (₹2,282.4 crore) from $28.1 million (₹2,333.3 crore) during the same period.
Over the past five to six years, CNH has invested more than $12 million (₹1,000 crore) in its Indian operations, with a significant portion directed toward expanding manufacturing capacity at Pithampur. The company has also strengthened localisation, working with over 300 Indian suppliers, around 100 of which are part of its Global Strategic Sourcing Program.
Looking ahead, CASE expects high single-digit growth in 2026, supported by improving rural demand following a good monsoon. The company views 2026 as a consolidation year ahead of stronger growth in 2027.
