      Cummins India profit increased 33% in Q1FY25

      Pune-Cummins India Limited, the manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engines announced a net profit of Rs 420 crore for the quarter ending June 2024, up by 33% year-over-year. The company’s total sales for the period reached Rs 2,262 crore, showing a 4% increase compared to the same quarter last year.

      Domestic sales grew by 12% year-over-year to Rs 1,873 crore for the quarter. Meanwhile, export sales decreased by 22% year-over-year, coming in at Rs 389 crore.

      Mr. Ashwath Ram, Managing Director, Cummins India Limited, said, "For the quarter ending June 30, 2024, CIL domestic revenue was driven by strong domestic demand from all segments, especially from the industrial sector. Powergen revenue was expectedly softer considering the sunsetting of CPCB II norms on June 30, 2024. Export revenue grew 13% over the prior quarter due to an improvement in demand from the end markets."

      The Cummins Engine Business Unit covers a broad range of operations, including aftermarket support, mid-range engines, heavy-duty engines, and high-power engines. It serves diverse markets such as heavy and medium-duty trucks, buses, recreational vehicles (RVs), light-duty cars, and various industrial sectors including construction, mining, marine, oil and gas, railroads, and military equipment.
