Pune - EKA Mobility., an electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and technology company and Chartered Speed Limited - a large bus mobility services provider in India, they’ve secured a government confirmation (Letter of Confirmation of Quantity) to deploy 1,750 electric buses in Bengaluru, India’s tech hub. This is about 39% of the city’s overall plan to add 4,500 electric buses, supporting BMTC’s push to expand clean public transport in line with India’s decarbonisation goals.
In this partnership, Chartered Speed will run and manage the bus operations, while EKA Mobility will supply the buses and provide technology support. The companies will follow safety and reliability measures such as regular maintenance, battery health monitoring, and driver training. Chartered Speed also plans to make 25% of its total fleet electric by FY2027.

He added that PM E-Drive supports Chartered Speed’s long-term plan, and the company aims to make 25% of its fleet electric by FY2027, with strong infrastructure investments.
Mr. Rohit Srivastava (Business Head & Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility) said PM E-Drive is a big boost for India’s EV goals, and Bengaluru’s large e-bus rollout is a strong example for other cities.
