Faridabad – Escorts Kubota Limited., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has unveiled its new PRO588i-G combine harvester in key North Indian markets, including Punjab and Haryana. The harvester is designed to cut crop stalks near the base, allowing farmers to collect full-length straw for reuse as cattle feed or biomass, offering an alternative to stubble burning and helping reduce air pollution in the region.
The PRO588i-G features a special threshing mechanism designed in Japan, which minimizes breakage of fragile Basmati rice grains, enhancing quality, export potential, and market value. Weighing just 2,700 kg—significantly lighter than conventional 9,000 kg harvesters—the machine reduces soil compaction, lowers ploughing effort, and cuts land preparation costs for subsequent crops.
Equipped with a crawler system, the harvester is capable of operating efficiently on wet fields. Its ergonomic design allows for simpler handling and longer working hours, supporting higher productivity.
Mr. Nikhil Nanda, Chairman & Managing Director, said, “At Escorts Kubota, we are committed to innovations that improve farmers’ livelihoods. The PRO588i-G not only offers better profit potential but also contributes to tackling air pollution in North India.”
Mr. Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, said, “The launch aligns with our vision of introducing transformative innovations to boost productivity, profitability, and sustainability through precision farming solutions.”
Mr. Rajan Chugh, Chief Officer, Agri Solutions Business Division, said, “The PRO588i-G advances harvesting technology in its class. Escorts Kubota, already a category leader in paddy applications, strengthens its position in India’s farm equipment sector with this new addition.”
The PRO588i-G represents Escorts Kubota’s latest step in providing advanced, sustainable, and efficient harvesting solutions tailored to Indian farmers’ needs.
