Maranello, Italy - Ferrari S.p.A., a sports car manufacturer, unveiled the interior design and revealed the name of its visionary new all-electric sports car: Ferrari Luce, marking the start of a new chapter for the brand.

More than a badge, “Luce” - meaning light in Italian - reflects a philosophy where electrification is a tool to unlock a fresh kind of Ferrari: one shaped by clarity, purpose and emotion. The name also signals a new naming approach for a major addition to the Prancing Horse line-up, blending Ferrari’s heritage with modern lifestyles through advanced technology, distinctive design and signature driving thrills.

The reveal was hosted in San Francisco by Ferrari and LoveFrom, the creative collective founded by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson, which has worked with Ferrari for five years across every aspect of the car’s design. Together with Ferrari’s Styling Centre led by Flavio Manzoni, the team developed an interior where hardware and software are designed as one, ensuring the physical architecture and interface behave in harmony.

The cabin is conceived as a clean, single volume - calm, focused and spacious - with key elements like the binnacle, control panel and central console clearly organised around inputs (controls) and outputs (displays). Every component is engineered to be quietly functional, creating a unified aesthetic that preserves and amplifies the emotional thrill of driving a Ferrari.

Ferrari also highlighted the craftsmanship behind the materials and production. The interior features precision-machined, 100% recycled aluminium alloy finished with advanced anodisation for durability and refined texture, alongside Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance and high visibility. Overall, the Ferrari Luce interior is presented as a blend of tradition, innovation and meticulous quality - offering enthusiasts a new Ferrari choice that honours the past while embracing the future.

LoveFrom is a multidisciplinary creative collective founded by Sir Jony Ive in 2019, with studios in San Francisco and London. It brings together architects, artists, engineers, filmmakers, designers (industrial, graphic, interaction, motion, type), musicians, sound designers, and writers. LoveFrom works closely with OpenAI and a small number of select partners, including Ferrari.

For the Ferrari Luce, LoveFrom shaped a human interface focused on tactility, clarity, and intuitive use - prioritising precisely engineered mechanical controls over oversized touchscreens, inspired by classic sports cars and Formula One layouts. The three-spoke steering wheel reinterprets vintage Ferrari-era design, uses a Ferrari-specific 100% recycled aluminium alloy, and is about 400 grams lighter than a standard Ferrari wheel, with controls tuned for satisfying mechanical and acoustic feedback.

The start sequence is designed as a ritual: a Corning Gorilla Glass key with an E Ink display changes colour when docked in the central console, triggering the cabin displays to light up. Three displays (driver binnacle, main control panel, rear control panel) are organised around clear inputs and outputs, unified by a custom typeface. The binnacle moves with the steering wheel and uses overlapping OLED screens to improve visibility, while the main control panel can pivot toward the driver or passenger for shared interaction. Materials and detailing - including Gorilla Glass used across key touchpoints - emphasise durability, precision, and a refined, minimal look.
