Pune - Force Motors Limited, an automotive manufacturer, has announced the rollout of its 200,000th engine from the company’s advanced manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, marking an important milestone in its long-term partnership with Mercedes-Benz.

Force Motors’ engine manufacturing partnership with Mercedes-Benz began in 1997 and has since grown into a strong collaboration covering the production of engines and axles for all Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs made in India.

The rollout of the 200,000th engine reflects the strength of this partnership, built on trust, technology, quality and shared commitment to advanced manufacturing in India. The milestone unit, a 6-cylinder M256 engine, has been fitted in a Mercedes-Benz GLS 450.

The achievement was celebrated in the presence of Mr. Prasan Firodia, Managing Director of Force Motors Limited, along with senior representatives from Mercedes-Benz, including members of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

The event was attended by senior Mercedes-Benz Group AG leaders, including Dr. Joerg Burzer, Chief Technology Officer for Development & Procurement; Mr. Michael Schiebe, responsible for Production, Quality & Supply Chain Management; and Mr. Mathias Geisen, responsible for Sales & Customer Experience.

They were joined by Mr. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India; Mr. Vyankatesh Kulkarni, Executive Director & Head of Operations, Mercedes-Benz India; and Mr. Prashant Inamdar, Executive Director – Operations, Force Motors Limited, along with other dignitaries and representatives from both organisations.

Mr. Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors Limited said, “As Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its presence in India, Force Motors remains committed to supporting its growth through best-in-class manufacturing, operational excellence and by contributing to the production of world-class automotive components in India. The 200,000th engine is more than a production milestone; it is the living story of a half-century-long partnership built on trust, precision and shared purpose. The Force Motors Chakan facility was purpose-built to meet Mercedes-Benz’s exacting global standards, and every engine that has rolled out of it, reflects Force Motors’ unwavering commitment to engineering excellence and manufacturing precision. To have honoured that commitment 200,000 times is a moment of profound pride for us”.

The milestone extends beyond production numbers. The Force Motors–Mercedes-Benz partnership represents a strong example of Indo-German industrial collaboration, steadily raising India’s automotive manufacturing standards.

As global supply chains place greater focus on reliability, quality, precision and local manufacturing capability, Force Motors’ ability to deliver German-standard engineering from India reflects the strength of the Make in India vision and deserves wider industry recognition.
