Schwandorf, Germany - HORSCH Maschinen GmbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has added new 5000-litre models to its Leeb PT self-propelled sprayer lineup with the launch of the Leeb 5.230 PT and Leeb 5.300 PT. These new models feature a durable polyethylene tank and are powered by either a 230hp or 300hp FPT 6.7-litre six-cylinder Stage 5 engine. Both come equipped with Horsch’s newly designed high-comfort cab and offer boom widths ranging from 24m to 48m, catering to a wide range of spraying needs.
Mr. Stephen Burcham, General manager at Horsch UK, said, “The 230hp engine suits the 5000-litre model very well and opens up a new segment for Horsch. We have already seen a lot of interest from farmers wanting a high capacity, high precision self-propelled sprayer but at lower entry point.”
The all-new cab, designed in collaboration with Claas, significantly enhances operator comfort by incorporating advanced features such as superior sound insulation, increased interior space, and ergonomically optimized controls tailored specifically for crop care operations. Standard equipment includes a cutting-edge A-pillar terminal, proprietary joystick and armrest controls developed by Leeb, and high-grade Category IV air filtration to ensure a clean cabin environment. For operators seeking even greater comfort during long working hours, an optional pneumatic 4-point suspension system is available, providing smoother rides over uneven terrain.
Originally introduced on the Leeb VT model, this new cab design is part of a versatile platform that also incorporates variable track width adjustment. This allows row spacings to be easily modified between 1.8 meters and 2.4 meters, making it ideally suited for mixed-crop farms and contractors who require flexibility across different field conditions. The adjustable track feature not only improves stability while working in the field but also enhances manoeuvrability on roads, ensuring safer and more efficient transportation between job sites.
With this latest expansion, Horsch continues to strengthen its position in the self-propelled sprayer market, delivering high-capacity performance with operator-focused design and cutting-edge crop care technology.
