New Delhi – The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers' Association (ICEMA), supported by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, hosted its third CE Human Capital Summit at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi, focusing on skill development, productivity, technology adoption and innovation in the construction equipment sector.
Held under the theme of building a future-ready workforce, the summit brought together industry leaders, HR professionals and young professionals to discuss the talent pipeline required to support India’s infrastructure and manufacturing growth through 2030 and beyond.
The event opened with a CEO panel featuring Deepak Shetty, President of ICEMA and Managing Director of JCB India; V. Vivekanand, Managing Director of Caterpillar India; Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director of Volvo CE India; and Deepak Garg, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of SANY Heavy Industry India. The discussion focused on workforce strategy, leadership priorities and the need to align skills with changing industry requirements.
A session titled “Young Voices, Big Ideas” gave Gen Z professionals a platform to share their expectations, career goals and views on the modern workplace. The discussion highlighted the sector’s growing focus on attracting and retaining younger talent amid rapid digital transformation.
The summit also included a fireside chat with HR leaders from the automotive industry, offering cross-sector insights on talent development, continuous learning and workforce readiness.
The event concluded with a keynote address by former Indian hockey goalkeeper and national team coach Mir Ranjan Negi, who spoke on resilience, discipline, trust and teamwork, drawing parallels between sports performance and organisational success.
