Rocester, Staffordshire - J.C. Bamford Excavators Limited., a construction equipment manufacturer, has secured a contract to supply the United States Marine Corps (USMC) with 535 militarised versions of its 437HT wheeled loader, in a deal valued at up to $205 million. Deliveries are scheduled to take place over the next decade.

This marks JCB’s third consecutive contract with the USMC. In the past five months, the Marines ordered a $45 million batch of militarised 4CX backhoe loaders, following a $39 million 2024 deal for JCB Teleskid compact tracked loaders adapted for military use.

Mr. Chris Giorgianni, VP of JCB Government & Defense, said, “Securing our third consecutive contract from the U.S. Marine Corps highlights the reliability, robustness, and global suitability of JCB machines in military applications.”

Test machines are expected to be delivered later this year, with full production anticipated to begin in 2027. Over the past decade, JCB’s defence division has grown significantly, selling nearly 10,000 machines to militaries worldwide. The latest contract was awarded under the Tractor, Rubber Tired, Articulated-Steering Multi-Purpose (TRAM) vehicle program.
