Moline, Illinois – Deere & Company., an agricultural equipment manufacturer, has expanded its Frontier equipment lineup with a new series of Flex Wing Rotary Cutters developed in partnership with Tarter USA. The American-made cutters will be available in 10-foot and 12-foot working widths.

The new FC50 Series is designed for use with John Deere 4 Series and 5E3 Series tractors. It offers 25 degrees of drawbar hitch rotation for improved flexibility during field operations. The 10-foot model has 830 pounds of hitch weight, while the 12-foot version has 850 pounds.

The cutters feature a G8 CV axle rated up to 175 horsepower at the transfer case, with outside wings rated at 90 horsepower. A ¾-inch steel plate around the gearbox, nylon bushings and magnetic gearbox closures help improve durability, reduce vibration and extend service life.

Operators can replace skid shoes by removing four bolts. The suspension can also be adjusted to reduce shock loads during cutting and transport, while height and rake settings can be changed based on operating needs. Pneumatic and laminated tire options are available.

Tarter USA will manufacture the cutters at its Liberty, Kentucky facility, using laser cutting, robotic fabrication and advanced welding systems. The new production line has also created 26 jobs at the site.

John Deere said the cutters have been tested through field trials and laboratory simulations to validate performance and long-term durability. The machines come with a two-year machine warranty and a 10-year gearbox warranty.
