Karnataka- LightMetrics Technologies Pvt. Ltd, highlighted the need to make fleet safety systems more actionable at the 10th Commercial Vehicle Forum 2026, held at Conrad, Pune, under the theme “Accelerating India's Transition to Green and Digital Commercial Mobility.”
The company noted that the main challenge for fleets is not the lack of safety technology, but the high volume of alerts and video footage that often do not lead to action. According to LightMetrics, more than 90% of video alerts can be false positives, making it difficult for safety teams to identify real risks. It also highlighted that 70–80% of fleet crashes are not caused by trucks, making clear video evidence important for protecting drivers and businesses.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Subhrajeet said the discussion has moved from whether ADAS and driver monitoring systems can work in India to how these solutions can be deployed effectively. He said fleets now generate large volumes of data, and the focus must be on turning that data into useful safety insights.
LightMetrics said AI-powered video telematics can help fleets identify risks such as distraction, drowsiness, speeding and tailgating before they lead to incidents. The company added that its Zero False Positive approach is designed to reduce unnecessary alerts and help fleet managers focus only on serious and useful events.
The key message from LightMetrics at CVF 2026 was that fleet safety will improve not by adding more cameras or alerts, but by reducing noise, identifying real risks faster and using video evidence to protect drivers, vehicles and fleet operations.
