The eTGL at IAA 2024 with a 235 km range and fast charging, completing its electric truck lineup for urban logistics.
Date: September 6, 2024Bavaria, Germany- MAN Truck & Bus is unveiling the new MAN eTGL at IAA Transportation 2024, completing its electric truck range for urban logistics. With a 235 km range, 30-minute fast charging, and up to 6,600 kg payload, it’s ideal for quiet, CO2-free city transport. Alongside the eTGS and eTGX, MAN now offers fully electric trucks from 12 to 42 tonnes, targeting urban areas for the shift to electromobility.
Mr. Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus, at the presentation of the new lightweight electric distribution truck, said, “With the new eTGL, MAN is becoming a true full-range provider in the field of electromobility. From night-time supermarket deliveries to heavy-duty long-distance transport, MAN offers transport companies zero-emission drives from a single source. The approximately 2000 orders and order enquiries for our eTGX and eTGS already show that our modular battery concept for individual deployment, body and range requirements meets the needs of our customers. With its high payload, short charging times and optimum range for urban logistics, the eTGL perfectly rounds off our eTruck portfolio,”
The MAN eTGL shares components with its heavier counterparts, the eTGS and eTGX, including two battery packs with a 160 kWh capacity, mounted on the frame for optimal balance. Charging via CCS at up to 250 kW enables a quick 30-minute top-up. The 285 hp electric motor, paired with a two-speed gearbox, drives the rear axle, while the 4500 mm wheelbase ensures city maneuverability. The spacious day cab offers ergonomic design, ample storage, and a 12.3-inch digital display showing battery status, range, and energy use, ensuring comfort and efficiency for urban transport.
MAN offers comprehensive eMobility consulting for eTGL customers, including personalized analyses for vehicle deployment and charging infrastructure. Through partnerships, they also provide charging stations, along with tailored service contracts and financing solutions. Digital services like MAN eReadyCheck assess if routes can be driven electrically, while MAN SmartRoute aids route planning, and MAN Charge&Go facilitates access to public charging points.
