Leinfelden‑Echterdingen- Mercedes-Benz Trucks has secured another major electric truck order from Dutch logistics provider Simon Loos, reinforcing the growing momentum behind zero-emission freight transport in Europe. The company has ordered an additional 75 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks, taking its total electric truck fleet to 210 units and making it the largest electric truck operator in the Netherlands and one of the biggest in Europe.

With this latest investment, Simon Loos is further embedding electric mobility into its daily logistics operations. The company’s first order for 75 eActros 600 trucks, placed in autumn 2024, has already delivered strong results in real-world use. According to Wim Roks, Fleet Manager at Simon Loos, the performance of the first batch exceeded expectations, with evaluations beginning as soon as the first vehicles entered service.

The newly ordered trucks will be used for food distribution, while several three-axle configurations will support network transport activities and beverage logistics. Around two-thirds of the initial order has already been delivered, and once the remaining vehicles are in operation, deliveries from the second batch will begin without interruption.

Simon Loos says it remains committed to maintaining the momentum of its electrification strategy rather than slowing down. The repeat order highlights the proven capabilities of the eActros 600 in demanding day-to-day logistics applications and reflects the company’s long-term confidence in battery-electric transport.

Mr. Eric Brok, CEO of Daimler Truck Nederland B.V., said that, Simon Loos has played a pioneering role in electric trucking, having become the first company in Europe to deploy the first-generation eActros 300 back in 2021. By the end of this year, Simon Loos is expected to have 150 eActros 600 trucks operating in its fleet. He added that the real-world experience gained by early adopters such as Simon Loos is critical to broader market acceptance of electric transport, and said the scale of this renewed order demonstrates how well the eActros 600 has already proven itself in everyday operations.

The continued collaboration between Simon Loos, GomesTrucks and Daimler Truck has been described as a strong foundation for further progress, built on trust, shared ambition and a common commitment to accelerating the transition to sustainable logistics.
