Stuttgart, Germany - Mercedes-Benz Group AG., an automotive manufacturer, has unveiled the all-new V-Class Extra Long Wheelbase (LWB), described as a “private suite on wheels,” aimed at redefining the luxury personal mobility segment in India. The premium MPV offers spacious interiors, advanced comfort and a lounge-like travel experience. Mercedes-Benz also announced that the V-Class will be locally produced in India.
Mr. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said “We are delighted to introduce the all-new V-Class for the Indian market, redefining the concept of a ‘private suite’ offering luxury, space and privacy to our exclusive customers. The V-Class addresses a growing trend amongst India’s opulent customers and trend setters, who seek an oasis of personal space, tranquility and privacy, while travelling in the lap of luxury. The decision to start the local production of the V-Class further reinforces our India commitment, adding significant value to our customers.”
The all-new V-Class is introduced with an extra-long wheelbase configuration (WB: 3,430 mm; Length: 5,370 mm) featuring a refined six-seat luxury layout. The V-Class introduces a petrol powertrain for the first time in India, expanding its appeal in the luxury MPV segment.
Its AIRMATIC air suspension system has been specially tuned for Indian road conditions to deliver superior ride comfort. Dual powertrain options are available: a petrol engine producing 170 kW (228 bhp) paired with a 15-kW mild hybrid system, and a diesel engine delivering 174 kW (233 bhp), both combined with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
The V-Class is positioned as one of the safest vehicles in its segment, featuring seven standard airbags (including A-to-D pillar window airbags), Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, a 360° camera, and a driver monitoring camera with ATTENTION ASSIST.
Premium standard features include an AMG Line exterior package, first-class luxury seats with massage and ventilation across all three rows, AIRMATIC air suspension, MULTIBEAM LED headlamps, Burmester surround sound system, and seven airbags as standard.
India becomes the first market globally to offer AIRMATIC air suspension on both petrol and diesel powertrains, while the V-Class is also the first vehicle in its class to provide ventilated seats in the third row. The all-new V-Class is now open for bookings, with priority deliveries for existing Mercedes-Benz customers
