Kawasaki City, Japan- Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC)., has officially introduced its latest Super Great heavy-duty truck to the Taiwanese market, marking a major milestone in the brand’s long-standing presence in the region. Headquartered in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and led by President & CEO Karl Deppen, MFTBC is rolling out the new model in partnership with its official distributor, Daimler Truck Asia Taiwan (DTAT).
With nearly six decades of strong market footing in Taiwan, MFTBC aims to further enhance efficiency and safety in heavy-duty transportation through this launch. The new Super Great represents the first full model change in Japan since 2017 and was initially unveiled at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show before its domestic release. Taiwan now becomes the first overseas market to receive this flagship model, which will be exported as a fully built unit from MFTBC’s Kawasaki Plant.
Designed to meet rising expectations for safety and convenience, the Taiwan-spec Super Great is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA®6) uses a forward-facing camera and millimeter-wave radar to identify potential collision risks involving vehicles or pedestrians. The system warns the driver via the multi-function display and can apply braking assistance to help mitigate or avoid accidents.
Active Side Guard Assist 2.0 enhances situational awareness with a right-side radar, issuing warnings during turns and lane changes. It provides audible alerts when pedestrians or cyclists are detected particularly valuable during right turns and monitors adjacent lanes on both sides to reduce blind-spot risks. Complementing this is the Front Blind Spot Information System, a low-speed forward-collision warning that detects pedestrians or bicycles when starting off, notifying the driver through visual alerts on the display.
The new Super Great also features Truckonnect, MFTBC’s telematics service, enabling real-time vehicle monitoring via the Internet. This connectivity offers fleet operators improved visibility into operations, supporting safer driving practices and more efficient fleet management key priorities for customers in Taiwan.
Market reception has been robust, with pre-orders surpassing 100 units as of November 2025. This early demand underscores MFTBC’s role as a trusted partner in Taiwan’s logistics and commercial transport ecosystem.
DTAT CEO Jung Woo Park said the new Super Great marks a pivotal step toward the next generation of Taiwan’s commercial vehicle industry. With advanced engineering and flagship-level safety technologies, DTAT and MFTBC aim to help customers boost efficiency and competitiveness while aligning Taiwan’s transport sector with global standards working closely with fleet operators to build a safer, more sustainable, and forward-looking mobility landscape.
