Chennai, India- MRF Limited., a tyre manufacturer, has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu through its investment promotion agency, Guidance. The MoU supports the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing facility for automotive tyres and related products at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu.

The proposed facility is expected to strengthen MRF’s manufacturing footprint and support the development of the automotive supply chain in the region. The project also aligns with Tamil Nadu’s strategy to attract new industrial investments and expand its position as a key manufacturing hub in India.

The MoU is non-binding and will be subject to the approval of a customised incentive package. It will also depend on infrastructure support, including land allocation and the necessary statutory approvals under the applicable regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Once implemented, the project is expected to create around 1,000 direct jobs, contributing to economic development and industrial growth in Sivaganga district and nearby areas.
