Milwaukee, Wisconsin - National Crane., a crane manufacturer, has introduced the NTC80, a new 80-ton boom truck designed to deliver strong lifting capacity while maintaining jobsite mobility and fast setup performance.

Launched alongside Manitowoc’s 800-ton Grove GMK8700 all-terrain crane, the NTC80 features a 156-foot, five-section main boom, 0.75-inch wire rope and a hoist drum capacity of 22,500 pounds. The boom truck offers a single-line pull rating of 17,160 pounds.

The crane is equipped with four-position outriggers, including a 24-foot full-span setup. A single front outrigger option is also available for work in confined or crowded areas. For extended reach, operators can use a 37- to 61-foot bi-fold swing-away jib with 0-, 15- and 30-degree offset options.

National Crane designed the NTC80 with input from customers who needed a machine suited for frequent moves and repeated setups. The model is targeted at utility, construction and oil and gas applications.

The NTC80 uses a trayless modular counterweight system that allows operators to hydraulically stack or remove slabs in any order. Depending on chassis and job requirements, the crane can be configured with a 12,000-pound standard counterweight package, an 18,000-pound heavy roadable package or a 24,000-pound maximum package.

The boom truck also includes electric pinning for faster stowing and deployment. Operators can lift over both the fixed and swing-away jib sections, improving flexibility during quick adjustments.

Additional updates include a larger operator cab with improved legroom and visibility, a boom tip with a standard external anti-two-block cable, optional electric-positioned boom lights or aircraft beacon, lockable ladder storage on both sides, multiple ladder access points, a pullout catwalk accessible from the cab and an integrated hoist access platform for easier inspection.

With its high lifting capacity, long boom reach and improved setup features, the NTC80 strengthens National Crane’s boom truck lineup for demanding lifting applications.
