Bengaluru -Ola Electric Mobility Ltd., has launched the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh scooter, powered by its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell, bringing its advanced in-house battery technology to the mass market and expanding access to long-range, high-performance electric scooters for a wider set of customers across India
The launch highlights the company’s vertically integrated approach, covering cell development, battery pack engineering, and vehicle manufacturing. This enables faster innovation, better cost control, and the ability to scale advanced EV technologies across segments.
The S1 X+ 5.2 kWh is designed to deliver a strong balance of performance and practicality. It is powered by an 11 kW mid-drive motor with an integrated MCU, offering a 320 km IDC-certified range and a top speed of 125 km/h. The scooter also features Brake-by-Wire technology and front disc brakes, improving braking precision and rider control.
The use of the 4680 Bharat Cell enhances energy density and thermal efficiency, contributing to improved range and consistent performance. This technology, previously seen in higher-end models, is now being extended to a broader customer base.
An Ola Electric spokesperson said the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh brings the company’s advanced battery technology to a wider audience, enabling faster adoption of electric vehicles. Ola Electric currently offers a wide portfolio of electric two-wheelers, including the Gen 3 S1 scooter range with premium models such as S1 Pro+ and S1 Pro, along with mass-market offerings like S1 X+ and S1 X in multiple battery configurations.
In addition to scooters, the company has expanded into electric motorcycles with its Roadster series, including Roadster X+ and Roadster X, further strengthening its presence in the electric two-wheeler market.
