India - Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL), the Indian subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group, has launched two new electric passenger three-wheelers in India — the Apé E‑City Ultra and Apé E‑City FX Maxx — to the Indian market. Priced at ₹3.88 lakh (~$4,650 USD) and ₹3.30 lakh (~$3,950 USD) respectively (ex-showroom, India), these vehicles are aimed at urban fleet operators and last-mile transport providers.
The Apé E‑City Ultra comes equipped with a 10.2 kWh LFP battery, delivering a certified range of 236 km. It produces 9.55 kW peak power, 45 Nm torque, and features 28% gradeability along with a Climb Assist mode for steeper urban terrains. Fast-charging capability, a digital instrument cluster, and 4G telematics enable fleet tracking, geo-fencing, and remote immobilization. The model includes a 5-year / 2.25 lakh km warranty, making it a strong choice for commercial operators.
The Apé E‑City FX Maxx, a slightly smaller variant, features an 8.0 kWh prismatic cell battery, a certified range of 174 km, 7.4 kW power, and 30 Nm torque. It’s engineered with energy monitoring features that extend battery health and operational reliability.
Both vehicles offer full-metal bodies, durable underpinnings, and smart fleet integration tools. The launch highlights Piaggio’s continued expansion in the electric three-wheeler segment, targeting India’s growing demand for urban zero-emission public transport.
