Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany - Porsche AG, an automobile manufacturer specializing in high-performance luxury sports cars, SUVs, and sedans, has expanded its GT lineup with the new 911 GT3 S/C, an open-top performance model that lets drivers enjoy the distinctive sound of its naturally aspirated boxer engine.
Porsche has introduced the new 911 GT3 S/C, adding an exciting open-top model to its GT family. Designed for pure driving enjoyment, it is the first 911 GT3 to feature a fully automatic convertible roof, allowing enthusiasts to experience the thrilling sound of its high-revving naturally aspirated boxer engine with the roof down.
The new model blends the lightweight philosophy of the 911 S/T with the performance character of the 911 GT3. It is powered by a 4.0-litre six-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer engine that revs up to 9,000 rpm, delivering 375 kW (510 PS) and 450 Nm of torque. Paired exclusively with a short-ratio six-speed manual transmission, the 911 GT3 S/C stays true to Porsche’s driver-focused approach.
Built as a pure two-seater, the 911 GT3 S/C is the only open-top version in the current 911 range to offer this layout. Unlike the limited-edition 911 Speedster, this new model will be a regular production offering. Porsche is also making available a new Street Style Package, giving customers more options to personalise the car’s appearance.
A major highlight of the 911 GT3 S/C is its strong focus on lightweight construction. Borrowing extensively from the 911 S/T, it uses carbon-fibre for the bonnet, front wings and doors, while magnesium is used for several components including the roof structure and lightweight wheels. Standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and a lightweight lithium-ion battery further help keep kerb weight down to just 1,497 kg, despite the addition of the powered roof.
Inside, the car combines sportiness with elegance. The cabin features lightweight carpets, carbon-fibre pull handles, perforated leather upholstery, and a clear driver-focused digital display. Sports Seats Plus come as standard, while lightweight folding bucket seats are optional. True to Porsche GT tradition, the engine is started using a rotary switch positioned to the left of the steering wheel.
Performance remains at the heart of the 911 GT3 S/C. The revised 4.0-litre flat-six engine meets modern emissions requirements while retaining the emotional character of a naturally aspirated sports car. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 313 km/h.
The fully automatic soft top can be opened or closed in around 12 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h, while an electrically operated wind deflector can also be deployed for improved comfort during open-air driving. Porsche has also given the car a distinctive look with a black windscreen frame, lightweight roof design, updated front lighting, and GT-inspired aerodynamic elements.
The chassis setup closely mirrors that of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, including double-wishbone front suspension and high-grip sports tyres, delivering sharp dynamics and strong road-holding performance. Porsche says this combination creates a level of open-top driving precision rarely seen in this segment.
For those seeking a more distinctive appearance, the optional Street Style Package adds Pyro Red accents, unique exterior graphics, tinted HD-Matrix headlights, and a more elaborate interior finish with contrasting leather, decorative stitching, and bespoke trim details.
Porsche is also offering a lightweight 80-litre rear cabin storage box as an accessory, along with an exclusive Chronograph 911 GT3 S/C from Porsche Design, available only to owners of the new model. The watch reflects several design cues from the car, including wheel-inspired detailing and customisation options to match the vehicle configuration.
Overall, the new 911 GT3 S/C brings together open-top motoring, lightweight engineering, manual transmission, and naturally aspirated performance, making it one of the most driver-oriented additions to Porsche’s current 911 lineup.
