Poznań, Poland- Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., has secured a major follow-on order in Warsaw after the city’s public transport operator, MZA (Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe), exercised an option to extend its September 2025 contract for electric buses. Originally covering 79 vehicles, the agreement has now been expanded by an identical batch 50 articulated Urbino 18 electric buses and 29 Urbino 12 electric buses taking the total order to 158 battery-electric, zero-emission buses.

The additional vehicles will match the specification of the earlier batch and will feature a modular drive system architecture without the traditional engine tower. The 12-metre Urbino 12 electric models will be equipped with batteries exceeding 500 kWh, while the 18-metre Urbino 18 electric buses will carry battery packs of over 700 kWh. Charging will be via plug-in connection, with deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2027.

Warsaw continues to rank among Europe’s leading cities for zero-emission bus deployment. Solaris has already delivered 163 electric buses to the Polish capital and is currently executing multiple MZA orders totaling 208 zero-emission Urbino electric buses.
