Stockholm, Sweden – Steelwrist AB., a tiltrotators and attachments manufacturer, has expanded its renowned SQ automatic quick coupler technology with the launch of the new SQ40 model, designed specifically for compact excavators in the 2–7 tonne range. The introduction marks another step in Steelwrist’s ongoing commitment to enhancing efficiency, safety, and versatility in the demolition and construction sectors.
The SQ40 quick coupler allows operators to change high-flow powered work tools quickly and safely—without leaving the cab—bringing the same time-saving and safety benefits of larger SQ couplers to smaller machines.
Mr. Stefan Stockhaus, CEO of Steelwrist, said, “For the past two years I have been running the SQ40 size on my own excavator and once you get used to not having to leave the cab when changing hydraulic powered work tools, you never want to go back. Since we introduced SQ40 at Bauma there has been a lot of interest for the product from many customers, and with the introduction of the SQ40 quick coupler we can also offer a sandwich tiltrotator installation. This is beneficial when you want to easily disconnect the tiltrotator to use for example a breaker.”
The SQ40 offers a high flow rate of 70 l/min with an innovative design providing 40% more flow area than standard couplings. It introduces the new H6 6-pin electrical connector for improved durability and reliability. Built to the S40 standard, the SQ40 is compatible with existing tools and allows easy S-to-SQ upgrades with simplified hose routing.
The launch of the SQ40 further strengthens Steelwrist’s leadership in fully automatic quick coupler systems, underscoring the company’s mission to provide smarter, safer, and more productive solutions for excavator operators worldwide.
