Chennai - Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), a tractor manufacturer, recorded its highest-ever annual tractor sales in FY26 at around 2,14,951 units. The milestone reflects its strong performance in both domestic and international markets, with growth outpacing the domestic tractor industry during the year.

TAFE closed FY26 on a strong note, registering 37.4% growth in March 2026, ahead of the domestic industry growth of 29% in the same period. The company attributed this performance to strong demand across major agricultural regions, the popularity of its tractor portfolio, and continued farmer engagement initiatives.

During FY26, TAFE’s key brands, Massey Ferguson and Eicher Tractors, achieved their highest-ever domestic sales. In export markets, the company shipped 12,584 tractors, underlining its expanding global presence and diversified business strategy.

To meet rising demand, TAFE said its manufacturing plants operated at full capacity throughout the year. The company is also evaluating capacity expansion plans to support future demand and further strengthen its position in the tractor industry.

Dr. Lakshmi Venu, Vice Chairman of TAFE, said, “FY26 was a positive year for both the tractor market and Indian farmers. She noted that favourable monsoons and government measures such as GST reduction supported the farming sector, while mechanisation continued to gain momentum in rural India.”

More small farmers and first-time users are entering the mechanisation ecosystem, which is expected to improve farm productivity and strengthen farmer incomes. According to her, TAFE’s focus on changing customer needs helped the company deliver strong market performance during the year.

Looking ahead, TAFE remains optimistic about growth prospects despite global uncertainties and inflationary pressures. The company expects demand to remain supported by rising mechanisation, replacement demand, and wider use of tractors across applications in both domestic and export markets.
