Mumbai - TKIL Industries (formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India)., a mining company, has announced a strategic partnership with Germany-based 2G Energy International GmbH., to introduce hydrogen-ready Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems and gas engines to the Indian market. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions across India’s industrial sectors.
The partnership will enable Indian industries to access 2G Energy’s advanced CHP technology, compatible with biogas, natural gas, flare gas, syngas, and even 100% hydrogen, with efficiencies of up to 98%. These systems harness waste heat during power generation, reducing energy losses and making them particularly suitable for energy-intensive sectors such as cement, sugar, steel, and paper.
Mr. Vivek Bhatia, MD & CEO of TKIL Industries, said, “Our partnership with 2G Energy will strengthen the adoption of globally proven, hydrogen-ready CHP technology in India. This supports industries in balancing sustainability with operational efficiency, while advancing India’s decarbonization goals.”
The collaboration comes as India’s renewable energy capacity reaches 234.24 GW, moving the country closer to its 2030 target of 500 GW from non-fossil sources.
TKIL Industries, a pioneer in engineering and industrial solutions since 1947, specializes in manufacturing, supply, and maintenance of industrial plants across sectors including cement, energy, green hydrogen, and battery storage. 2G Energy International GmbH, a subsidiary of 2G Energy AG, operates in over 70 countries with more than 10,000 installations globally, focusing on efficient, decentralized, and sustainable energy solutions.
