Toyota City, Japan - Toyota Motor Corporation., an automotive manufacturer, Striking style, everyday versatility, and all-electric efficiency define the all-new 2027 Highlander. Redesigned inside and out, it seats up to seven and becomes Toyota’s first three-row BEV for the U.S. - and the first BEV the brand assembles in America.

Toyota says the new Highlander aims to lead the midsize SUV segment with sleek design, a roomy cabin, and advanced tech. Exterior updates include clean body lines, wide fenders, full-length LED DRLs, and flush door handles for improved aerodynamics. Inside, it features a modern, tech-focused layout with a 14-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch driver display, customizable ambient lighting, plenty of charging in all rows, and an available panoramic glass roof.

The lineup includes XLE and Limited grades with standard Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 and Toyota Audio Multimedia. Battery options vary by grade and drivetrain, with FWD and AWD choices on XLE and standard AWD on Limited. AWD models add features such as Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control.

Comfort and practicality are key, with SofTex-trimmed seating, heated front seats standard, available ventilation and second-row heating, and a third row that folds flat to open more than 45 cubic feet of cargo space. A new Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function lets the Highlander power external devices or provide backup power (with required accessories).

Toyota also focused on performance and refinement. AWD models deliver up to 338 hp and 323 lb-ft of torque, while FWD models produce 221 hp and 198 lb-ft. The Highlander uses an NACS charging port for access to a wide fast-charging network and supports DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes under ideal conditions, along with Level 1/2 charging and battery preconditioning.

Production is set for Georgetown, Kentucky, with battery modules assembled in North Carolina and by a U.S. supplier partner. Sales are expected to begin in late 2026 into early 2027, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
