Atlanta, Georgia- Triumph Motorcycles today announced the Scrambler 400 XC for the North American market, expanding its modern-classic 400 platform with a more rugged, off-road-ready variant that will be sold alongside the cast-wheeled Scrambler 400 X. Designed in Hinckley, UK, the XC blends classic Scrambler style with approachable performance and a high standard specification to welcome a new generation of riders.
“Scrambler 400 XC delivers authentic Triumph character in a lightweight, confidence-inspiring package equally happy on city streets and gravel backroads,” said Triumph Motorcycles in a statement. “By combining accessible ergonomics, tractable power, and purposeful equipment, we’ve built a small-capacity Scrambler that feels big on capability.”

Echoing Triumph’s Scrambler 900/1200 lineage, the 400 XC pairs a sculpted tank and upswept exhaust silhouette with modern engineering. Standard kit includes wire-spoke wheels with Excel aluminum rims, Metzeler dual-purpose tires, handguards and flyscreen, plus robust underbody protection for rougher terrain.
The Scrambler 400 XC’s technical package includes a 398cc single with Bosch engine management and ride-by-wire, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a torque-assist (slip/assist) clutch and X-ring chain final drive. Suspension is handled by 43 mm USD forks and a piggyback rear shock, each offering 150 mm of travel with rear preload adjustment. Braking comes via a 320 mm front disc with a 4-piston radial caliper and a 230 mm rear disc, both with ABS. It rolls on wire-spoke 19-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear) tubeless-ready wheels, and features a 32.7 in (835 mm) seat height. Electronics include switchable traction control, an Off-Road ABS mode, and a USB-C charging port, while instrumentation is a classic analogue speedometer with an integrated multi-function LCD.
The Scrambler 400 XC will arrive at authorized Triumph dealers across the U.S. and Canada beginning late 2025, with full MSRP and color details to be confirmed closer to launch. A range of factory accessories—including heated grips, luggage solutions, and protection upgrades—will be available at introduction.
