Pella, Iowa - Vermeer Corporation., an agricultural equipment manufacturer, has enhancing its microtrenching equipment lineup to meet the growing demand for fibre infrastructure in urban areas. Building on the MTR516 microtrencher attachment, the company now offers integrated cutting attachments and support equipment designed to improve productivity and precision for contractors.
The MTR516 attachment cuts trenches up to 17 inches (43.2 cm) deep and features a shrouded housing to contain debris and optimize vacuum suction. It is compatible with Vermeer’s RTX550 and RTX750 ride-on tractors, providing the stability and maneuverability required for dense urban jobsites. A larger microtrenching attachment is also in development.
Supporting equipment includes the new core saw attachment for precise cutting of concrete and asphalt, and the concrete reinstatement attachment for efficient trench backfill. Both are designed to help contractors maintain productivity and accuracy in confined spaces.
Mr. Nick Olsen, product manager at Vermeer, said, "Microtrenching isn't just about cutting a trench. It's about managing the entire installation process efficiently. Contractors need equipment that works together to help keep crews productive, minimize surface disruption and deliver clean results. That's exactly what we're building with our expanded microtrenching lineup. We've leveraged our experience with utility installation equipment to build microtrenching solutions that offer enhanced durability and maintain cutting performance, even in challenging conditions."
Vermeer’s microtrenching solutions are engineered to minimize surface disruption while maintaining installation precision, addressing the challenges faced by contractors working in cities where rapid fibre rollout is underway.
