Japan- Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., has unveiled the updated Tricity 300 scooter for overseas markets. The company announced that the new model comes with improved safety and technology features, including an integrated rider airbag, making it one of the first production scooters to offer this system. The update focuses on better rider protection, stability, and comfort for urban commuting.
The Tricity 300 is powered by a 292cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 28 PS and 29 Nm of torque. The engine has been updated to meet the latest Euro5+ emission standards. The scooter uses a CVT transmission designed for smooth and easy riding, especially in city conditions.
The scooter continues to use Yamaha’s Leaning Multi-Wheel technology, where the two front wheels tilt together while cornering. This improves grip and stability on rough or slippery roads. It runs on 14-inch tubeless tyres and uses telescopic front suspension with a rear swingarm setup for better ride comfort.
For safety, the Tricity 300 gets disc brakes on all three wheels along with cornering ABS, IMU support, Unified Braking System, and Brake Control system. A Standing Assist feature helps keep the scooter upright when stopped, making it easier to handle in traffic.
The design has been updated to fit the new airbag system, giving the scooter a sharper front look. It gets LED lights, updated body panels, and new colours. The scooter also features a dual-screen display with smartphone connectivity, navigation support, keyless ignition, parking brake, and under-seat storage, making it more practical for daily use.
