Sao Paulo, Brazil – YANMAR Holding Co., Ltd., an agricultural machinery company, has announced a major investment of USD 51.13 million (R$ 280 million) to build a new manufacturing facility in Indaiatuba, Sao Paulo state. The project, which will be completed in phases through 2030, is designed to expand the company’s production capacity, integrate operations, and strengthen processes to meet rising demand in Brazil and across South America.

Covering 140,000 square meters, triple the size of Yanmar’s current local factories, the new complex will initially boost tractor production capacity from 5,000 to 7,000 units annually. The expansion is expected to generate around 100 direct and indirect jobs by 2029. The first phase, a 36,000 square meter unit, is scheduled to begin operations in 2027.

Equipped with automated assembly lines, advanced logistics, and enhanced safety and ergonomics systems, the facility will modernize Yanmar’s local operations. Sustainability will also play a central role, with features such as natural lighting, photovoltaic energy, and automated lighting controls aligning with Yanmar’s global environmental targets.

Mr. Wagner Santaniello, Innovation and Marketing Manager at Yanmar South America, said, “This new factory is essential for meeting market demand and advancing our growth in Brazil. We aim to grow our tractor market share from 10% to 12%, while maintaining leadership in mini excavators and expanding in other segments.”

Yanmar has been active in Brazil for more than 65 years and currently employs over 300 people at its Indaiatuba site.
