New York, United states- Zenobē Energy Limited., and Vectalia have signed a €120 million operating lease framework agreement to accelerate the electrification of public transportation in Spain. The agreement marks a major step in the deployment of zero-emission bus fleets and strengthens both companies’ commitment to cleaner, more efficient and future-ready mobility.

The agreement, signed in Alicante, will support operating leases of up to €120 million over the next three years. The funding will be used for fleet renewal with electric buses and the electrification of supporting infrastructure, including depots. Zenobē said this is its largest transaction of this kind in Spain and Europe to date.

Through this partnership, Vectalia will be able to advance its decarbonisation plans by accessing a complete electrification solution covering vehicle leasing, charging infrastructure and technical support. The framework also includes a battery management agreement, under which Zenobē will take responsibility for battery-related risks and provide monitoring services for battery health and degradation. This is expected to reduce operational risk for Vectalia.

The agreement will help Vectalia continue developing a mobility model aligned with stricter environmental requirements and the changing needs of cities and passengers. The transition to electric buses is expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce emissions and lower the environmental impact of public transport services.

Mr. Martín Navarro, Zenobē’s Director for Iberia, said, “the combination of this long-term structure and specialised technical support enables Vectalia to move more quickly toward the electrification of its fleet and the achievement of its sustainability goals, offering its users cleaner, more efficient and emission-free transportation.”

Mr. Antonio Agudo, CFO of Vectalia, said, “this agreement reinforces Vectalia’s commitment to sustainable mobility and to our users. Thanks to this framework leasing agreement, we will be able to accelerate the electrification of our fleets and depots, directly contributing to the reduction of emissions and moving toward more efficient, innovative and environmentally friendly public transportation.”

Zenobē’s operating lease framework forms part of its broader value proposition as a strategic and operational partner for the decarbonisation of heavy-duty transport. Its solutions include electric bus and truck leasing, depot electrification through Charging as a Service, energy management, load optimisation, and infrastructure operation and maintenance.

With this agreement, Zenobē strengthens its presence in the Spanish market, while Vectalia reinforces its innovation and sustainability strategy. The partnership supports Spain’s transition toward cleaner public transport and positions Alicante as an important hub in the country’s sustainable mobility transformation.
