Manitoba, Canada - Bushel Plus Ltd., a harvest optimization solutions provider, has entered a strategic partnership with John Deere to offer the Bushel Plus SmartPan System through John Deere’s North American dealer network. The agreement makes the SmartPan System available to U.S. and Canadian farmers, integrating it with John Deere’s Harvest Settings Automation technology to help reduce harvest losses and improve combine performance.
The collaboration combines Bushel Plus’s drop-pan loss measurement technology with John Deere’s automated combine adjustments, which manage rotor speed, fan speed, concave clearance, and sieve and chaffer settings in real time. Together, the systems enable operators to set accurate loss targets, validate automation performance with real field data, and make informed, data-driven adjustments during harvest.
According to John Deere, the partnership reflects a shared focus on innovation and grower profitability. By pairing SmartPan’s ground-truth loss measurements with Harvest Settings Automation, farmers can better calibrate their machines, adapt to changing field conditions, and maintain losses within operator-defined limits while maximizing productivity.
The SmartPan System allows operators to collect true bushels-per-acre loss data at any point during harvest, compare results with the John Deere G5Plus display, and fine-tune settings accordingly. Harvest Settings Automation then continuously adjusts the combine to maintain optimal performance across varying crops and conditions.
Under the agreement, John Deere dealers across the U.S. and Canada will be authorized to sell and support the SmartPan System, providing farmers with access, service, and technology integration through Deere’s established dealer network. Beginning in 2026, the two companies will also collaborate on joint training programs, in-field demonstrations, and educational events to support adoption and effective use.
The Bushel Plus SmartPan System supports crops including corn, soybeans, wheat, canola, barley, rice, and milo, and is available in 20-inch, 40-inch, and 60-inch pan sizes to suit different John Deere combine models, stubble conditions, and header widths.
