MUNICH, Germany - Caterpillar Inc., a construction and mining equipment manufacturer, has unveiled its next-generation Cat 775 off-highway truck at Bauma 2025, marking a major leap in performance, efficiency, and future-ready technology. With a 65-tonne (71-ton) payload capacity, the 775 is the company’s first next-gen rigid-frame hauler, designed to support full autonomous operation through Cat® MineStar™ Command.

Mr. Tony Fassino, Group President of Construction Industries at Caterpillar, said, “The design of the Next Gen 775 represents a significant leap forward in off-highway truck technology, offering unmatched power, efficiency and safety features. Visitors at bauma will see our full range of technology offerings, from remote control to semi-autonomous to the future of autonomous machines in construction.”

The 775 features an all-new frame that reduces empty weight and increases payload potential. A 10% larger body and improved weight distribution enhance productivity, while the redesigned suspension lowers the center of gravity for better handling and fuel efficiency. Compared to the 775G, the new model reduces welding by 30%, boosting durability and simplifying repairs.

Powered by a 615 kW (825 hp) Cat C27 engine, the truck meets global emission standards and offers faster cycles with lower fuel consumption. Operator-focused upgrades include a new cab with large windows, auto climate control, and Cat’s deluxe seat.

Advanced safety systems include 360-degree cameras and Cat Detect, combining radar and cameras to alert operators of nearby hazards. Serviceability is also improved with remote diagnostics, extended-interval filters, and fire suppression readiness.

Mr. David Holthaus, Senior Engineer and Team Lead for the Cat 775 at Caterpillar, said, “Compared to previous models, our next generation 775 off-highway truck features an industry-first frame design that reduces empty weight delivering the potential for larger payloads and lower fuel burn. Plus, its 10% more body volume and improved turning radius helps to boost productivity and performance.”
